Home > Projects > Approval for Two Affordable Housing Schemes in Gloucester

Brief

Working with Gloucester City Homes towards two affordable housing schemes in Gloucester, Rappor was instructed to provide transport planning inputs for one development comprising three affordable dwellings off Oakleae and another containing four affordable dwellings off Meadowleaze. This included the production of a Technical Note for each site access arrangement drawings, swept-path analysis, and other master planning inputs.

Issues and solutions

Being located on former garage sites, evidence was presented to demonstrate that the displacement of existing parking spaces could be accommodated via alternative means.

The constrained access road serving Oakleaze provided some issues regarding two-way movement and refuse collection. CTP were able to satisfy the highway authority, through the use of access drawings and swept-path analysis, that the access road was still suitable, despite its constraints.

Results

The sites each received a no objection (subject to conditions) from the highways authority, and full planning permission was granted for both schemes on Monday 16th March 2020.
